Nach Medienangaben soll er zuvor positiv auf Drogen getestet und daraufhin entlassen worden sein.
Er soll vor der Tat seine Frau und sein Kind getötet haben. Nach dem Amoklauf soll er während der Flucht aus dem fahrenden PKW weitere Menschen an-/erschossen haben.
Der thailändische Ministerpräsident sagte, die Gesellschaft müsse sich um alle kümmern, vor allem um die Angehörigen der Opfer, dies sei eine gesellschaftliche Pflicht.
Das Attentat sei in der Geschichte Thailand erstmalig in Fülle der expandierten Gewalt.
Welches Motiv der Ex-Polizist hatte, ist Gegenstand laufender Ermittlungen. Er selbst kann dazu nichts mehr aussagen, da er sich selbst nach der Tat beziehungsweise auf der Flucht erschoss.
